DW -- Is the ECB going to make Döner Kebab cheaper?

On June 6th, the European Central Bank for the first time in years lowered interest rates – signalling the worst of inflation is over. But how to translate this important but technical message to a general audience on instagram? We went with the price for Döner Kebab that had been in the press just weeks earlier to explain why the central bank won’t make things cheaper again. Importantly, we went with a graph for the price level instead of usually reported inflation rates since relative rates are difficult to interpret, while levels are closer to consumers’ experience.

I reported from the ECB presser, with lives for TV directly after.
